Iron Age to Medieval Human Genetic Connections across Eurasia: A Central European Perspective

讲座题目: Iron Age to Medieval Human Genetic Connections across Eurasia: A Central European Perspective

讲座专家:Professor Anna Szécsényi-Nagy

时间:2026年11月10日(周二)下午1:30-3:00

地点:复旦大学江湾校区生命科学学院 A208会议室

专家简介:Dr Anna Szécsényi-Nagy is a molecular geneticist and archaeologist by training. She completed her PhD in archaeogenetics in Mainz, Germany, in 2015. Her early research focused on the processes of Neolithisation in Europe during the 6th and 5th millennia BCE. After returning to Budapest, she established the Institute of Archaeogenomics within the Research Centre for the Humanities, where she now leads a growing team investigating a wide range of topics in ancient DNA research. Drawing on her training in both disciplines, she places particular emphasis on interdisciplinarity, integrating different approaches within bioarchaeology. In this talk, she presents her team’s research on human populations from the Iron Age to the medieval period, when both trade and population movements repeatedly connected eastern and western Eurasia.
