摘要

Andres Ruiz-Linares has been working for a number of years on the genetics of populations from Latin America, including evolutionary analyses as well as gene mapping studies. His work has sought to exploit the advantages of the region for the study of human and population genetic questions of broad scientific relevance. Of special interest to this proposal the history of extensive intercontinental admixture in the region implies that the population of Latin America represents a highly informative “natural experiment” in which to analyse the role of genetic factors in phenotypic diversity, particularly for traits differentiated between Africans, Europeans and Native Americans.
工作经历

He received his bachelor's degree in medicine from the university of Rosario in 1984, his master's degree in biochemistry from the university of Paris vii in 1987, and his doctor's degree in genetics from the university of Cambridge in 1991.

1992 - postdoctoral research at Stanford university school of medicine,

1994-1998 - assistant professor of department of biochemistry at Medellin Colombia university school of medicine

1998-2000 - lecturer at British imperial college, London school of medicine

2000-2006 - lecturer, senior lecturer at British department of biology at university college London (Galton laboratory)

2006-2017 - professor, honorary professor at British genetic evolution at university college London, department of environment

2017-prensent – Professor at Fudan University, School of life sciences.
