One of the most influential Life Science Awards in China was announced on Nov 19th. Jin li, a member of the Chinese academy of sciences and vice President of Fudan University, was awarded the Tan jiazhen Life Sciences Achievement Award.

Jin li systematically analyzed the genetic structure, population differentiation, migration routes, population mixing and environmental adaptation of populations in east Asia. On this basis, the complex evolutionary relationship among genes, phenotypes and environment is systematically elaborated, which plays an important role in promoting the development of evolutionary genetics, genomics and computational biology in China.  

Since 2008, the Tan jiazhen Life Science Award has been appraised for 11 years. A total of 22 scientists had won the  Tan Jiazhen Life Science Achievement Award, 6 clinicians had won the Tan jiazhen Clinical Medicine Award, 7 experts had won the Tan jiazhen Life Sciences Industrialization Award, 102 young scholars had won the Tan Jiazhen life and science innovation award. Among them, a total of 19 academicians of the Chinese academy of sciences and the Chinese academy of engineering won the achievement award, and 2 academicians of the Chinese academy of engineering won the clinical medicine award.
